FAQ’s

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately we cannot accomodate dogs at the open days unless they are assistance dogs.

Can I pick my own peonies?

No it is not a pick your own farm as all the cutting is done by professionals. It is a commercial crop and the flowers are picked in a certain way to make the blooms last the longest whilst also protecting the plants for the future.

Do you have a cafe?

There is no cafe on site but there are lots of local pubs, the nearest one is the Hook and Hatchet which is a 5 minute drive away.

Do you have toilets?

Yes we have toilets on site.

Can I walk across the rows in the peony field?

We ask that you stick to the grass lanes in the field and do not cut across the rows as this damages the plants, even if there are gaps.

Can I pick up flowers that are on the ground?

We ask that you don’t pick up any flowers that are on the ground. We dead head the plants throughout the season and they rot back into the soil to add nutrients for years to come. Some of the buds we cut off may also have disease and we don’t want that spreading to your garden.

Do you take cash or card?

We take both cash and card. There are discounts on bouquets of flowers for using cash.

Can I order plants in advance?

Yes you can order certain varieties in advance through our website and collect them during the season. You do not need an open day ticket to collect your plants as this is included with your order.

Can I keep my peony in a pot?

The peonies we grow do not like to be kept in pots and much prefer to be in the ground. You can buy patio peonies that are more suited to pots but we don’t have any of these.

What if it rains?

Please prepare for all weathers, there is no indoor shelter. If the weather is very bad or stormy we will be in touch about moving your ticket to another date.
